Mohammedan Sporting and Khel Foundation celebrate Diwali

Mohammedan Sporting Club patronized the celebration of Diwali, a historical moment for Kolkata Maidan Clubs whereby peoples of various caste and creed celebrated with the club management. The club through its President and General Secretary is highly inclined to reach the mass and thereby calls upon Khel Foundation to stand united and secular in its endeavour and vision.

The president Amiruddin (Bobby) and general secretary Wasim Akram of Mohammaden Sporting Club stated that the practice of such celebrations in India is more than thousand years old and as such this club of 130 years old would not lag behind to cherish its achievements with the celebration of Diwali with the members of all communities and thereby invited Khel Foundation to stand along with the hope of glorious future of both the entities.

Further The club had also discussed to explore a women wing to suitably open scope for Women Football and also implement the grassroots schemes of AIFF.

Finance secretary Sharique Ahmed said, “The celebration of Diwali would be continuously celebrated by the club from year to year with all pomp and shows but presently due to pandemic situation the club shall celebrate it in compliance to the rules of the regulators and as such the program of Diwali shall be celebrated with less number of invitees for this year.”

Khel Foundation was represented by Vivek Mehra, Kavita Mehra, Shashi Kapoor, Dilip Singh, Mazhar Ali, Arshad Baig, Izhar Ahmed, Akram Hossain, Zafarullah Khan, Mujahid, Adil Jahangir, and Chief Legal Advisor of Mohammedan Sporting Rabiuddin Ahmed (Advocate), who was also present in the event along with Hasnain Ahmed and Danish Iqbal from the Executive Committee of Mohammedan Sporting Club.
