DFL Deutsche Fußball Liga
This year, DFL Deutsche Fußball Liga has awarded funding totalling around €1.6 million to 103 clubs below 3. Liga in recognition of the Bundesliga and Bundesliga 2 debuts in the 2019-20 season of 59 licensed players who were trained at these clubs.
For example, Bliesheimer Ballspielclub 1927 e.V. (North Rhine-Westphalia) received over €30,000 for its part in training U21 international Ismail Jakobs (debut for 1. FC Köln). Three players from FC Eintracht Norderstedt von 2003 e.V. (Schleswig-Holstein) made their debut this season: The club received a total of more than €25,000 for training Jonas David (debut for Hamburger SV), Fabian Nürnberger (debut for 1. FC Nürnberg) and Marvin Senger (debut for FC St. Pauli).
The training reward provides financial support for clubs that train players between the ages of 6 and 21 who later go on to become professional players. Clubs who were involved in training these players between their 6th and 11th birthdays receive €4,200 per season. Clubs where the players were active between the ages of 12 and 21 receive €5,400 per season.
