SAFF ExCo meets vitually, 2021 SAFF Cup in Bangladesh

The South Asian Football Federation (SAFF) held its Executive Committee meeting on Monday, December 28 virtually to plan for the year 2021 and take other decisions.

SAFF president Kazi Salahuddin presided over the meeting with SAFF general secretary Anwarul Huq and members in attendance.

Amongst the decisions taken was that the 2021 SAFF Championships would be held from September 14 to 25 in Bangladesh with India remaining to confirm its participation.

The SAFF Championship was scheduled to be held last September but was postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Maldives are the reigning champions, having defeated India 2-1 in the 2018 final to lift the title for a second time.

The SAFF ExCo meeting approved the following:
1. The revised SAFF Statutes.
2. The standing orders of SAFF Congress.
3.The SAFF Electoral Code.
4. The SAFF Competition calendar for the year 2021.
5. Budget for the Year 2021.
6. The audited account for the financial year 2019.

SAFF championship: 14-25th September 14-25, Host – Bangladesh
SAFF U-16 Women’s championship: August 18-27, Host is to be confirmed
SAFF U-19 Women’s championship: July 13-22, Host is to be confirmed
SAFF U-15 Championship: October 1-10, Host is to be confirmed
SAFF U-18 Championship: October 15 -24, Host is to be confirmed
