Arminia Bielefeld’s Sergio Córdova tested positive for COVID-19

Bundesliga side DSC Arminia Bielefeld have confirmed today that striker Sergio Córdova has been tested positive for COVID-19. The 23-year-old Venezuela international has gone into a self-isolation quarantine at home and is currently asymptomatic.

Córdova presumably contracted COVID-19 during a private visit to a public medical facility last week according to a statement by the club.

Arminia Bielefeld midfielder Reinhold Yabo, a close contact person for Córdova, has also gone into a self-isolation quarantine as a precautional measure. Yabo tested negative for COVID-19, but the club would like to avoid any risk at this stage.

The PCR test results of all other players and staff have been negative.
