Borussia Mönchengladbach statement on European Super League

Borussia Mönchengladbach have issued a statement on the European Super League, while Bundesliga clubs strongly oppose the introduction of such a new competition.

Joint Statement by Borussia Mönchengladbach CEO’s Stephan Schippers and Max Eberl

“This Super League is a club for the super rich, who are flouting the long established structure of football. It is an attack on UEFA’s club competitions, but above all on the domestic leagues. It is cynical and hypocritical to claim that this move is for the good of football and is what football fans want, as those behind this league are doing. We can be proud that all of the German clubs have opposed this league, and we will fight to ensure that those clubs involved are expelled from all competition both domestically and internationally.”
