ATK Mohun Bagan sign Finland international Joni Kauko

Former Indian Super League champions ATK Mohun Bagan have announced the signing of Finland international midfielder Joni Kauko, who played for his country at UEFA EURO 2020 recently.

30-year-old Turku-born Joni Kauko is a former Finland Under-21 team captain, who came through the youth system at local Finnish side FC Inter Turku.

The central midfielder made his senior debut with FC Inter Turku before playing for FC Lahti. He moved across to Germany to play for Bundesliga 2 sides FSV Frankfurt and Energie Cottbus before moving to Denmark to play for Randers FC and Esbjerg fB.

Joni Kauko in a message for ATK Mohun Bagan fans said, “Hello Mariners. This is Joni Kauko. Greetings from Finland. I am really excited to join the historic club, ATK Mohun Bagan. I am looking forward to learning about the fascinating culture of India. So see you soon, Mariners. Take care.”

Joni Kauko is set to join ATK Mohun Bagan ahead of their AFC Cup and Indian Super League – Season 8 campaigns.
