More than 900,000 tickets sold for the first matchdays of the Bundesliga and Bundesliga 2

With more than 900,000 tickets sold for the first three matchdays of the Bundesliga, the first five matchdays of the Bundesliga 2 and for the Supercup 2021, contact tracing in connection with coronavirus occurred in a total of six cases. In these cases, the health authorities requested a total of 52 data records for the purpose of contact tracing. None of the relevant clubs are aware of any of the six individuals infecting other spectators in the stadium. This is the finding of a DFL club survey, which covered the 73 matches held so far.

Because of the continuing restrictions and rules, the permitted total capacity agreed between the clubs and the relevant authorities averaged 42% of the seats normally available. At seven of the 73 matches, only recovered and/or vaccinated spectators were admitted.
