Bengaluru FC secure third place finish with victory over FC Goa

Bengaluru FC’s Academy U13s finished in third place in the inaugural edition of the U13 JSW Youth Cup with a 3-0 victory over FC Goa, in Bellary, on Friday. Second-half goals from S Chinmay (46’), Ishan Chatur (50’), and Aalhaad Hate (58’) saw the Young Blues end their campaign on a winning note.

FC Goa began the game with a resolute backline that shut Bengaluru out in the first half. The Young Blues were reduced to efforts from outside the 18-yard-box but failed to break the deadlock. Atul Pulipra came closest for Ajay Chorge’s side, when his shot from distance troubled the goalkeeper, but it was pushed behind for a corner.

Into the second half, Bengaluru came out in full force and scored three times with Chinmay the first to find the back of the net with a strike from distance. The midfielder, having picked the ball up right outside the opponent’s box, launched one into the top right corner to make it 1-0.

Only four minutes later, Ishan was put through on goal by Miran Kaping and dinked the ball over Vladmer Gomes in the Goa goal to double the BFC U13s’ lead. Aalhaad sealed victory for Bengaluru with his fourth goal of the tournament.

Aalhaad’s strike made him the top-scorer for the Young Blues, who continue their development at Bengaluru FC’s Residential Academy in Bellary, Karnataka.
