The 2014 FIFA World Cup Organising Committee has approved the procedures and the draw pots for the Final Draw, which will be held in Costa do Sauipe on Friday at 13.00 local Bahia time (21.30 IST / 17.00 CET / 16.00 GMT).
Hosts Brazil will be in Pot 1 along with the other seeded teams namely Spain, Germany, Argentina, Colombia, Belgium, Uruguay and Switzerland. Pot 2 will contain the Ivory Coast, Ghana, Algeria, Nigeria, Cameroon, Chile and Ecuador, while Pot 3 will be made of Japan, Iran, South Korea, Australia, United States, Mexico, Costa Rica and Honduras. Bosnia, Croatia, England, Greece, Italy, Holland, Portugal, Russia and France will be in Pot 4.
The seeded teams have been selected on the basis of the October edition of the FIFA/Coca-Cola World Ranking. A pre-draw will be held to move one of the nine European teams into Pot 2. That European team will then be drawn against one of the four seeded South American teams to preserve the geographical balance of the draw.
The 2014 FIFA World Cup Draw Ceremony will be broadcast live on free-to-air-channels in 193 countries.
