India U-16 national team

The India U-16 national team thumped UAE club side Ajman Club U-17 9-4 today (December 18, 2015) at the Al-Hamriyah Ground in Dubai, UAE.

Justifying their stellar form during the United Arab Emirates exposure tour, the Indian colts took the lead in the 2nd minute as Aniket slotted home his opportunity.

Four minute later, Aniket popped up in the 18 yard box, rounded the opponent’ custodian and scored to give India a 2-0 lead. The match was probably over in the 11th minute itself as Aniket once again blasted his chance into the back of the net to complete his hat-trick and give India an unassailable 3-0 lead.

With the match being one way traffic, all from the Indian team, chances came in plenty as the colts dominated possession and dictated the tempo. In the 17th minute of the match, the colts extended their lead to 4-0 courtesy of an Aman goal.

Although Ajman Club pulled one back shortly after, the India U-16 team, courtesy of Amarjit and Aniket, scored in the 39th and 45th minute respectively to make the half-time scoreline read 6-1.

Changing over and Joysana Singh hammered the ball into the back of the net in the 59th minute to extend India’s lead. Shortly after, Ajman Club scored twice in quick intervals to make the score-line read 7-3.

In the 72nd minute, Aniket netted his fifth goal of the match to make the score-line read 8-3. Two minutes later the Indian team made it 9-3, courtesy of a penalty kick which was comfortably slotted past the opponent’ custodian by Rakip.

Although the Indian colts took the game by the scruff of its neck, Ajman scored through a free-kick against the run of play and minimized their deficit to five as the score-line read 9-4.

The full-time scoreline also read 9-4 in favor of the India U-16 national team.
