In a bottom of the I-League table clash between Gokulam Kerala FC and Churchill Brothers SC the Goans scored a 3-2 comeback win at the EMS Municipal Stadium in Kozhikode on Monday night.

While newcomers Gokulam Kerala FC lost their fifth match in a row, former champions Churchill Brothers scored their first win of the campaign.

The Red Machines went ahead through a 16th minute goal by Ogba Kalu Nnanna which shocked the hosts, but their efforts went in vain as Churchill Brothers took a 1-0 lead into the break.

Gokulam Kerala FC kept up the pressure at the start of the second session and equalised in the 59th minute through a Daniel Addo header. The hosts now went in search for the lead and went ahead in the 70th minute through a rebound goal by Ugochukwu Emmanuel Chigozie.

But Churchill Brothers equalised only four minutes later as a Monday Osagie free-kick was put into the net by Ogba Kalu for his second goal of the night.

The match had one more highlight left as in injury-time Provat Lakra brought down Koffi Mechac, who himself took the penalty and beat keeper Bilal Khan to give Churchill Brothers a 3-2 win, their first of the 2017/18 I-League season.
