Argentine legend Diego Armando Maradona has reached an agreement with newly-established Kerala Football Club (KFC) at the sidelines of a meeting in Dubai earlier today.

The 1986 FIFA World Cup winner fell in love with “God’s own Country” during his short visit in October and he was overwhelmed by the reception by the football fans in Kerala [+ read more].

Maradona has been convinced by the club officials that KFC, a new club based in Koodal [+ read more], has the needed corporate and government backing to implement a state-of-the-art club with all needed facilities including a Centre of Excellence and a brand-new football stadium.

“It is a historic day for KFC and Indian football,” a KFC spokesman told www.chrispd.de, the official media partner of the club. “Kerala loves Maradona and we are looking forward to welcome the ‘God of Football’ in our beautiful state.

“I love India and I love Kerala,” Maradona exclusively told www.chrispd.de after the meeting in Dubai. “Coaching KFC is a great opportunity to thank the people of India for their support.”

KFC and media partner www.chrispd.de have issued an official press release stating: “KFC and www.chrispd.de are delighted to announce the ‘signing’ of Argentine legend Diego Armando Maradona as the new coach of our club.
