Guwahati ready to host India vs Malaysia match

Football fans in Guwahati are ready to host the first-ever international match of the Indian national team in the Northeast Region.

The Assam Football Association (AFA) has almost completed the preparations for the India vs Malaysia match, which is scheduled to take place at the Indira Gandhi Athletic Stadium, Sarusajai on Sunday.

The Indian team has arrived in Guwahati on Thursday and they have checked-in at their hotel earlier in the day. The Malaysian team is expected to reach the city on Friday morning and they will stay at the Hotel Nakshtra.

New India coach Savio Medeira and his wards will have a first training session on Friday at either the Judges’ Field or the SAI Ground, while the last practise session will be conducted at the Indira Gandhi Athletic Stadium on Saturday.

The international friendly match will kick-off at 17.45 IST (13.15 CET / 12.15 GMT / 20.15 MYT).

The ticket rates have been fixed as follows:
Students – Rs 30; Adults – Rs 50; VIP’s – Rs 300 & Rs 600

The AFA has also arranged buses from various points of the city to the match venue. Further spectators will be able to take buses after the match till 22.00 IST from the stadium.
