The Indian national football team has arrived in Kolkata earlier today, where Savio Medeira and his wards will face Malaysia in an international friendly match on Wednesday.

Both teams faced each other at the Indira Gandhi Athletic Stadium, Sarusajai, Guwahati on Sunday, when the Indian team managed to register a 1-1 draw against the visitors. Syed Rahim Nabi scored the late equaliser for the Indian team in front of 20,000 spectators.

The mood in the Indian camp remains positive and the player are determined to win the next tie at the Saltlake Stadium.

“It’s always a matter of pride when you play for your country and I am happy that I helped my side to equalise against Malaysia. Though we would have really liked to win the match in front of our home crowd,” Syed Rahim Nabi told.

“We will give our 100% to win the match in Kolkata. This is my home town and we won’t let our supporters down. I also request all our supporters to come out in huge numbers and to support us,” he added.

The Indian team relaxed at the pool after their arrival in Kolkata and the squad is scheduled to have a first training session at the Saltlake Stadium tomorrow.
