Indian national team coach Savio Medeira has named the inexperience of his squad and mistakes in the midfield as the main reason for the 0-2 loss against Tajikistan in the AFC Challenge Cup 2012 opener earlier today.

“We lacked on the experience side. Many of the boys who played are young and couldn’t handle the pressure. We started well and created many chances but couldn’t capitalize,” Savio told at the post-match press conference.

Asked about the India’s best player in today’s match, Savio told about midfielder Rocus Lamare: “Rocus played well in the game others need to take a lesson out of him.”

“All is not lost yet. We will surely make a comeback against Philippines,” Savio added, while looking forward to the remaining matches in the AFC Challenge Cup 2012. “We will learn from our mistake in the match today and would try to rectify them.”

The Indian team will face the Philippines in its second Group B encounter on Sunday.
