The new Asia-Pacific representative office of DFL Sports Enterprises (DFL SE) will be going into operation on 1 June under the management of Peter Leible as Chief Representative.
“Peter Leible has very good contacts and extensive experience in Asia,” said Joerg Daubitzer, Managing Director of the marketing subsidiary of DFL Deutsche Fußball Liga, which is the governing body of the Bundesliga. “We are delighted to have Peter Leible on our team from 1 May 2012 after a comprehensive selection process with some very good candidates.” Leible will be introduced to the global media partners at this year’s DFL SE International Broadcaster Meeting on 16 May.
“I am greatly looking forward to my new tasks in surroundings which are very familiar to me and to the opportunity of contributing additional impetus for marketing German league football in this region,” says Peter Leible.
Aged 44-years-old and a fully qualified lawyer, Peter Leible has been Asia-Pacific Managing Director at the international sport rights agency MP&Silva in Singapore, amongst other things, over the past few years. Prior to that, he worked at the Sportsman Media Group as Director of Business Development and TSV 1860 Munich as a marketing and sponsorship director, among other things. He has over 15 years experience in marketing, media and sport, especially football.
The representative office in Singapore will be stepping up rights marketing efforts in the Asia-Pacific region. With numerous direct media partnerships and dynamic growth, the region is already one of the core markets for German league football. “We want to broaden our market share relative to other European football leagues, intensify efforts to secure direct contracts with media partners and steadily increase the revenues generated by German league football in this region,” explains Daubitzer. The sales region comprises Asia (excluding Russia, the former CIS countries and the Middle East), Australia and Oceania.
