Leipzig coach Zorniger delighted about Subrata’s trials

Alexander Zorniger (RB Leipzig)

Indian national team keeper Subrata Pal arrived in Germany on Saturday for trials with 4th Division side RB Leipzig. Leipzig’s head coach Alexander Zorniger is looking forward to see Subrata in action during the two-week long trials.

Zorniger is considered part of the new category of conceptual coaches in European football. The 44-year-old gaffer took over the reins at the Red Bull club earlier this month to succeed Austrian Peter Pacult.

The new coach is currently running a pre-season camp in Austria with his team and the German team would return to Leipzig on Wednesday. Subrata Pal is expected to join the first team on Thursday after spending the first few days with the U23 team as reported earlier [+ read more].

“We are delighted to have Subrata as a part of RB Leipzig during the off season training,” Zorniger told. “It will be a two week development and trial programme and we are really looking forward to it.”

“We would like to understand during this training how we may potentially use his expertise in the future and also understand the depth of Indian football,” the coach added.

Subrata’s performances during the RB Leipzig trials would be monitored by various Red Bull Global Soccer representatives including scouts/coaches from Austria’s Red Bull Salzburg and MLS outfit New York Red Bulls.
