Cameron and his delegation of more than 100 British CEO’s and investors landed in Mumbai earlier in the day with the aim to further tighten the bonds between the UK and India.

English Premier League CEO Richard Scudamore is also part of the British delegation touring the country and he his keen to strengthen the increasing interest in the EPL all around the sub-continent.

“Ten years ago it was very small, and it’s grown and we’ve just concluded our deals for the next three years, and we’ve had exponential growth here both in audience and revenue terms, so it’s an increasingly important market for us,” Scudamore told the BBC.

“There’s an awful lot going on on the ground to build soccer interest here,” he added.

The EPL has a huge fan following in India and it is not a surprise to see Richard Scudamore in India along with the PM.
