The 19th FAO Debabrata Kar Memorial Inter School Football Tournament 2013 has kicked-off in Cuttack on Tuesday.

The tournament was inaugurated by Dr. Biswajit Ghosh (Head Master, P.M. Academy High School) at the P.M. Academy School Play Ground at 16.00 IST. The 19th FAO Debabrata Kar Memorial Inter School Football Tournament 2013 is organized by “The Veteran Football Players’ Association”.

A total 18 schools participate in the tournament, while the P.M. Academy School got a walkover against the C.R.R.I. High School as the later didn’t turn up for the opening match. In another exhibition match between the P.M. Academy High School registered a 1-0 win against the Jobra Municipal High School.

The tournament kicked-off with an inaugural ceremony in the presence of various dignitaries including Laxmi Priya Dei (I.P. Schools), Suvendu Patra, Giridharilal Nayak, Dr. U.R. Parija, Subhasis Kar, Bibekananda Patra, Ramesh Chandra Mallik (Vice-President, Football Association of Odisha), Avijit Paul (Joint Secretary, Football Association of Odisha). Samir Dey (President, The Veteran Football Players’ Association) presided over the proceedings.
