Awakening football's sleeping giant India at the Soccerex European Forum

The 2013 Soccerex European Forum at Manchester will see the biggest names of world football gather at the Manchester Central Convention Complex on April 10 & 11. Indian football will be once again one of the topics at the two-day event in England.

Indian football has been on the agenda of Soccerex, the leading football convention, during its events in Dubai, Johannesburg, Manchester and Rio de Janeiro over the past decade and the India panel in Manchester will be another platform to discuss and present the current situation of the beautiful game in the sub-continent.

The India panel at the Soccerex European Forum at Manchester has been named “India: Awakening Football’s Sleeping Giant” and will be hosted by Soccerex in cooperation with the Federation of Industrial Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI) and Libero Sports.

The session will feature senior representatives from the key stakeholders involved in the development of Indian football. It will focus on the strategies and programmes currently in place as well as India’s vision for football at both a domestic and international level according to the event programme.

AIFF General Secretary Kushal Das, Vivek Narayan (Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Govt. of India), Rajpal Singh (Director of Sports, FICCI), Kunal Dua (Head of Sports Marketing, Panasonic India), Shirish Kulkarni (Owner, DSK Shivajians FC) and Sukhvinder Singh (Managing Director, Libero Sports India) will be the panelists on April 11. Various other representatives of Indian football will also attend the Soccerex European Forum including the likes of Nike India, Sports & Education Promotion Trust (SEPT), Arunava Chaudhuri and myself.

The Soccerex European Forum at Manchester will host various panels during the two days and the football business is looking forward to meet at the event. The list of international delegates include the likes of Sir Bobby Charlton, Eusébio, UEFA General Secretary Gianni Infantino, Edwin van der Sar and Roy Hodgson, besides representatives from federations, clubs, sponsors and media around the globe.
