Churchill Brothers to take on Mumbai FC

Churchill Brothers SC will try to take their performance once step ahead when they take on Mumbai FC in the Round 3 encounter of the I-League 2013-14 at their home ground, Duler Stadium, Mapusa.

The Red Machines have lost their first match against Salgaocar (0-1) and drew their second game against Mohun Bagan (0-0) so far. Red Machines showed flashes of what they are capable of in the game against the Kolkata Giants and now they want to keep the momentum going against Mumbai FC.

Technical Director Sukhwinder Singh said: “All the teams in the I-league are equal and we cannot take any game lightly. In the first game against Mohun Bagan we were not up to the mark. Second match with Salgaocar we gave an improved performance and now with Mumbai FC we can perform to our potential.”

The team had a long afternoon training session at Duler Stadium on Thursday under the watchful eyes of the Head Coach Mariano Dias and Sukhwinder Singh where the boys were put through a lot of match situation practice with the match against Mumbai FC in mind. Head Coach Mariano Dias said: “It’s an important game for us against Mumbai FC. This will be the 3rd game which we will play at home and we are yet to register a victory so I feel it’s important to win before we head out to Shillong for an away game.”

Another exciting match is on the cards at the Duler Stadium, Mapusa which has been full house for the last 2 matches of Churchill Brothers. The crowd has stood for the Red Machines at the same time cheering the opponents as well when the make a good move. The match will also be live on Ten Action and the Kick-off is at 16.00 IST.

“We will try and go for a victory in the match as we have not been able to play to our potential in the last two games and have only collected one point so with Mumbai FC we want to earn full points,” summed up Churchill captain Dharmaraj Ravanan.
