Salgaocar FC have released their foreign recruit Claude Gnakpa. The French striker was released on the November 29, while all formalities were completed earlier today.

“Unfortunately, he doesn’t fit in the team plan anymore,” said Salgaocar coach Derrick Pereira, stating that his off–the-field injuries may have affected his performance.

Pereira thanked Gnakpa for his contribution to the club and wished him a successful career ahead. Gnakpa scored two goals for Salgaocar in the I-League

Salgaocar will have three foreigners in their squad for their I-League encounter against Shillong Lajong FC tomorrow. But the question for a replacement remains.

“We’ve not yet finalized on a player yet, we’re looking for a number 10,” Derrick Pereira signed off with a smile.
