German giants FC Bayern Munich will host a Holocaust memorial event at the FC Bayern Erlebniswelt on Saturday (February 1).

The memorial event will be conducted in association with the “!Nie wieder” (“!Never Again”) initiative to highlight the fight against anti-Semitism, racism and xenophobia.

The visitors of the memorial event at the FC Bayern Erlebniswelt, Germany’s biggest club museum, will be able to take part in various programmes focusing on Kurt Landauer.

Kurt Landauer played a very influential role in Bayern Munich’s club history. Jewish Landauer lead the club as its president for 18 years between 1913 and 1951 and he was forced to leave the country when the Nazi regime took over the power in Germany. He spent 33 days at the concentration camp in Dachau, before he was released due to his participation in the World War I.

The memorial event will start at 11.00 CET with a special tour called “FC Bayern and National Socialism”. It will be followed by a review of the “!Nie wieder” (12.00 CET) and a documentary entitled “Landauer” (13.30 CET).

The function will continue with the “The 1932 German championship final” panel at 15.00 CET, while the screening of “Kick it like Kurt” would conclude the memorial day at the FC Bayern Erlebniswelt.

The tickets for the memorial event are available at the FC Bayern Erlebniswelt and online at www.fcb-erlebniswelt.de. The tickets have been priced at 12 Euros (adults), 10 Euros (concessions) and 6 Euros (children).
