Kerala humiliate Andaman & Nicobar with a 17-0 win

Kerala have won their 68th Santosh Trophy 2014 South Zone qualifier against the Andaman & Nicobar Islands 17-0 on Saturday.

Kerala kicked-off their campaign with a 0-1 defeat to Tamil Nadu, while winning their second match 3-1 against Andhra Pradesh. Coach AM Sreedharan’s team knew about the need to win the encounter against the underdogs of the South Zone qualifiers to keep the own hopes alive.

Shibin Lal VK scored five goals to win the Man of the Match award, while Suhair VP (4x), Usman P. (3x), Jipson Justus (2x), Nasarudeen C. (2x) and Johnson N. scored the other goals of the match played at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, Chennai.

Kerala will take on Karnataka in their last qualifier on Monday, while Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu will clash in the second encounter of the day.
