Sesa Football Academy registered a 5-1 victory over Sporting Clube de Goa in the U-19 I-League (Goa Zone) at Sesa Ground, Sirsaim on Friday.

Sporting Clube de Goa were missing the two rocks in their defence, namely Jesmon Carvalho and Chingakham Singh through suspension, but nevertheless started confident and compact.

Sesa had the chance to take the lead after just four minutes, but Sporting Clube de Goa custodian Alison Fernandes, who had to be substituted later in the game through injury, heroically saved Ganesh Thakur’s penalty.

At the other end, The Flaming Oranje had a good penalty shout turned down. The referee decided to award a free kick on the edge of the box instead, with no card being shown to the last defender.

In the 20 minute, Sporting Clube de Goa surged ahead when Aniket Mandraker perfectly controlled an aerial ball and kept his composure to slice it past the goalkeeper.

It took Sesa just seven minutes to draw level, when Estevan Mendes punted in. Olvin added two and Stephen Colaco also got his name onto the score sheet before half time.

Olvin tapped in to complete his hat-trick early in the second half.
