Refresher Course for Women's national team coaches

The Indian Women’s national team coaches across the pyramid will be getting a taste of the new formations and tactics ahead of the busy schedule starting the 2014 Incheon Asian Games for the senior team followed by AFC U-19 and U-16 Qualifiers in a two-day refresher course in Mumbai, which started on Wednesday.

Scott O’Donell, Technical Director Academies and Director Coach Education, All India Football Federation (AIFF), is presiding over the sessions which consists of theory and practical sessions where the Technical Director will be laying emphasis on new tactical systems and formations.

National team coaches as well as U-19 and U-16 coaches are attending the seminar aimed at apprising all of new systems ahead of the Asian Games in September and AFC Qualifiers in October and November.

While the Asian Games begins next month in Incheon, South Korea the U-16 and U-19 girls are slated to play in Bangladesh and Jordan respectively in the months of October and November.

India are in Group B for the U-16 event with the likes of hosts Bangladesh, Iran, Jordan, UAE and Qatar. For the U-19 Qualifiers, India find themselves in Group A and under the same roof with Jordan, Uzbekistan and Lebanon.

Tarun Roy, Surmala Chanu, Chitra Gangadharan (all Senior National Team), Priya PV, Chaoba Devi, Ronibala Devi (all U-19 National Team), Maymol Rocky, Shradhanjali Samantaray, Raghuvir P Khanolkar (all U-16 National Team)
