Soccerex is delighted to announce that Javier Tebas, President of the Liga de Fútbol Profesional (LFP), will be speaking at this year’s Soccerex Global Convention, taking place on 6-10 September in Manchester.

La Liga claims some of the game’s biggest superstars including Messi, Neymar, Cristiano Ronaldo and now Luis Suarez, as well as the two most profitable clubs in world football currently in FC Barcelona and Real Madrid CF, according to Deloitte’s Football Money League report in 2014, making the Spanish top-flight competition one the most prominent sports league in the world across all sports.

Mr Tebas will share his insight into the workings of the league and on Liga’s growth plans on the international stage including the implementation of the LFP World Challenge which has been on two global tours already, with the likes of Valencia, Sevilla, Villarreal, Deportivo, Atlético de Madrid, Málaga and Almería visiting Asia, Latin America, the US, Australia, Germany and Turkey.

Mr Tebas’s participation highlights La Liga’s active presence with Soccerex, with a second consecutive participation after they took a 36m2 stand at the Asian Forum in Jordan; at Manchester they will be taking a big pavilion within the heart of the exhibition, in partnership with leading technological innovators Mediapro, to promote several cutting-edge technology systems recently implemented with Spanish clubs to enhance player performance.

Mr Tebas commented : “We’re excited to share our ongoing projects and ambitions for the future with delegates in Manchester. We’re looking forward to continuing our successful working partnership with Soccerex this September, and engaging with the global media and multiple stakeholders in the industry at the event.

Tebas joins a growing list of international industry leaders who will be speaking at the Global Convention including FIFA President Joseph Blatter, four-time Olympic gold medallist Michael Johnson, MLS Commissioner Don Garber, FIFA Vice-President Jim Boyce, RFU CEO Ian Ritchie and England and Manchester United legend Sir Bobby Charlton.

The Convention kicks off with the Football Festival on 6-7 September, with the Conference starting on Monday 8 September. A packed international exhibition and a programme of networking and social events complete the schedule for what is widely acknowledged as the world’s leading football business event.
