CONCACAF President Jeffrey Webb to address Soccerex Global Convention

Soccerex are honoured to confirm that Jeffrey Webb, President of the Confederation of North, Central American and Caribbean Association Football (CONCACAF) will be doing his first industry interview of the season at this year’s Soccerex Global Convention, 6-10 September, Manchester.  

Undoubtedly, President Webb has made has huge strides since his unanimous election in 2012, when he became the youngest leader of any regional association within FIFA. In addition to his role at CONCACAF, President Webb is also a FIFA Vice President and head of FIFA’s anti racism task force and he has quickly established himself as one of the most important and highly respected administrators in world football.

The Soccerex Global Convention will see President Webb, in discussion with David Davies, look at challenges he has had to overcome during his time in charge of CONCACAF and give his insight into plans for the future development of football across the region, including the proposed Caribbean Premier League and CONCACAF’s hosting of the Centennial Copa America in 2016. In his broader FIFA capacity he will also share his thoughts on some of the key issues affecting the world game including discrimination in football.

Jeffrey Webb is part of a strong FIFA delegation at the event which includes FIFA President Joseph Blatter, fellow Vice Presidents Jim Boyce and Prince Ali Bin Al Hussein plus a further four FIFA Executive Committee members.

Commenting on President Webb’s participation, Soccerex CEO, Duncan Revie commented:
“I am absolutely thrilled President Webb has agreed to participate in this year’s Soccerex Global Convention. CONCACAF is undoubtedly a region on the rise and the success of their nations in this summer’s FIFA World Cup is testament to the great work he has done in a short space of time.”

President Webb’s session is one of a series of headline Conference panels featuring the biggest names in world football addressing the most pressing issues in the game. Other speakers confirmed for the event include FIFA President, Joseph Blatter, RFU CEO, Ian Ritchie, Olympic legend Michael Johnson, Sky Sports MD, Barney Francis, Liverpool CEO, Ian Ayre and many more.

The Soccerex Global Convention kicks off with the Football Festival on 6-7th September, with the conference starting on Monday 8th September. A packed international exhibition and a programme of networking and social events complete the schedule for what is widely acknowledged as the world’s leading football business event.
