The 28 year old defender faced the Mumbai FC Media Team for an interview to talk about his reasons to join the club, his football background and much more.

INTERVIEW

Your thoughts on joining Mumbai FC
It was an easy decision. I am really excited to play in the I-League again. Mumbai FC is a top club & I am at the peak stage of my career and hence it is the right move for me. I am thankful to Khalid bhai who approached me and then convinced me to join Mumbai FC. I am looking forward to meet and train with my new teammates soon.

Your football background?
I played for the Air India senior team for 6 years. I joined their u19 team as a youngster in 2006. Other clubs that I have played for before Air India were Sea View, RCF and Jolly Boys FC.

What’s your favorite position?
No favorite position as such. All I can say is I am a defender and most comfortable playing as a Left back or as a Left Center Half.

And your favorite stadium in India?
Saltlake. The crowd is massive and fantastic. It has an unbelieveable atmosphere.

You have played a lot of matches. What’s the craziest decision you took during a game?
I scored against ONGC in a game at Kolhapur. Very few minutes were left and it was necessary for us to score to rescue the match. When I got the ball I just rushed forward past quite a few players leaving my own defence open and scored. It was pretty risky but worth it.

First break in football
My football timeline is from Sea View to RCF to Air India & now Mumbai FC

Schooling Background…
I have studied at St. Dominic Savio School. I enjoyed my time there. I got inspiration to play football and make a career out of it when I was studying there.

Define your style of play…
I like to keep the ball and pass it around. In pressure situations I just clear the ball away.
