NorthEast United FC travelled to Pune to face hosts FC Pune City in a Hero Indian Super League (ISL) match at the Shree Shiv Chhatrapati Sports Complex Stadium on Monday.

The game proved to be the expected lively encounter as both sides penetrated the opponent’s box with several attempts. But both goalkeepers had a brilliant first half with Arindam Bhattcharya and Rehnesh Thumbirumbu Paramba securing their sides a 0-0 draw at the half-time break.

The match looked like a typical goalless draw, but substitute John Goossens hit the target to the delight of the home fans. Dudu Omagbemi hit the crossbar before Goossens headed home the rebound to score the winner for the home side.
