ONGC down Kalighat MS to win the Kalinga Cup 2014

ONGC registered a 2-1 win against Kolkata’s Kalighat MS in the final of the All India Kalinga Cup Football Tournament 2014 on Wednesday.

Enock Annan opened the score sheet for ONGC in the 26th minute, while Kailash Patil doubled the lead in the 41st minute to hand the Mumbaikars a 2-0 lead at half-time.

Subhajit Mazumdar (65th) reduced the margin for Kalighat MS, but the goal was not enough for them to challenge ONGC in the final.

The Closing Ceremony took place in the presence of chief guest Sudam Marndi (Minister of Sports & Youth Services, Government of Odisha), besides Guests of Honour Asirbad Behera (Hon’y Secretary, OOA & OCA) and Saswat Mishra, IAS (Comm. Cum Secretary, Department of Sports & Youth Services, Odisha).

Debashish Samantaray (Hon’ble MLA, Barabati-Cuttack & President, FAO) presided over the Closing Ceremony. Dr. Srikara Mishra (Working President, FAO), Bijaya Das, Bhakta Ballav Das, Dillip Sahoo (Vice Presidents, FAO), Bijay Kumar Das and Avijit Paul were also present at the Closing Ceremony.
