India Women’s squad announced for Rio 2016 Olympic Qualifiers

The All India Football Federation (AIFF) has shortlisted 20 members for the Indian Women’s Senior National Team squad for the Rio 2016 Women’s Football Olympic Qualifiers Round 1, following a Preparatory Camp at the Shiv Nadar University, Dadri, Uttar Pradesh.

The Indian eves have been clubbed in Group A alongside hosts Myanmar and Sri Lanka. The Tournament is slated to kick-off from March 9, 2015 in Mandalay, Myanmar and the Indian team will start their campaign against Sri Lanka on March 13, before taking on hosts Myanmar on March 15.

Head coach Sajid Dar was pleased with the 20 member contingent at hand and said: “We have a bunch of very talented players, who are capable of upsetting some of the best teams in Asia. We are ready for the challenges ahead and will take them head on.”
