The inaugural season of the Malabar Premier League (MPL) will kick-off on Saturday (April 11) at the Kottappadi Football Stadium in Malappuram.

Basco Blasters (Othukkungal) and Super Fighters (Malappuram) will be in action in the opening match of the new league which aims to strengthen football and groom new talent in Malappuram District, one of the most craziest football regions in Kerala.

Both teams will be led by their Celebrity Players namely former Indian internationals CV Pappachan (Basco Blasters) and Naduparambil Pappachen Pradeep (Super Fighters).

CPN Ummer Koya will be the coach of Basco Blasters, while VA Narayana Menon will be in charge for the Super Fighters.
