2015 Soccerex Asian Forum

Soccerex are delighted to announce a first class line up of speakers for their major events panel at the upcoming Soccerex Asian Forum taking place at the King Hussein Bin Talal Convention Centre on the banks of The Dead Sea, Jordan, May 3-4.

Featuring Nasser Al-Khater, Communications and Marketing Director (Supreme Committee for Delivery & Legacy), Mark Falvo, Head of International Affairs & Government Relations (Football Federation Australia), Danny Jordaan, President (South African Football Association) and Malcolm Tarbitt, Executive Director – Safety & Security – International Centre for Sport Security (ICSS), the panel will discuss how innovations in technology, safety and security can enhance both commercial and operational activities for clubs and event organisers alike.  The panel will also be sharing best practices on overcoming the challenges faced in delivering the optimum match day experience.

Nasser Al-Khater will be updating the industry on their preparations and also be looking to engage with the wider football industry to seek best practices and investment ahead of the Middle East’s first ever FIFA World Cup in 2022. On the back of this year’s AFC Asian Cup, the most successful in its history, Mark Falvo is well placed to speak about major event hosting and will offer firsthand experience, along with Danny Jordaan, who was instrumental in winning the bid and then delivering the 2010 World Cup in South Africa.

Malcolm Tarbitt – a top international sport safety and security expert – completes this experienced panel and will add his global expertise in securing some of the world’s largest major events and sport venues.

Discussing the importance of the 2015 Asian Forum on the global stage, Al-Khater commented: “Soccerex has a very special place in our heart; it was one of the launch pads for our bid when we first bid for the 2022 FIFA World Cup™. Of course Soccerex is the most important conference and exhibition in the world of football and we are trying to make as much use of it as possible.”

Soccerex CEO Duncan Revie commented: “We are delighted to announce what is a vastly experienced panel of experts. Between Mark Falvo, Danny Jordaan and Malcolm Tarbitt, every base is covered in delivering a major event. I’m personally thrilled to welcome back Nasser Al-Khater, who will provide insight on the Supreme Committee for Delivery & Legacy’s preparations for their World Cup. There will be a great synergy between the speakers and that will ultimately culminate in a great session.”

The Asian Forum will be a hub of football business, bringing together the industry’s key decision makers with Football Associations from across Asia and the rest of the world. Senior figures from Europe’s elite clubs such as AC Milan, Atletico Madrid, Malaga CF, Galatasaray, Manchester City, Olympiacos, Palermo and Villarreal will also be in attendance. They will be joined by leading representatives from major event committees including the Local Organising Committee (LOC) for the landmark FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup 2016.  World football legend Diego Maradona will be reflecting on his superstar career both on and off the field with his vision of the future at the closing session.  For the opening session, HRH Prince Ali, on behalf of the AFDP, will be presenting and declaring the second Soccerex Asian Forum in Jordan underway.
