Karnataka State FA announces inception of new stadia in Bengaluru

The Karnataka State Football Association (KSFA) had invited sealed bids on June 8, 2015 through tender process from interested bidders for the reconstruction and redevelopment of the Bangalore Football Stadium and its ancillary developments on a build operate and transfer basis, for a 30 year period on a leave and license basis, for completion of the stadium by March 31, 2017 to host the FIFA U-17 World Cup, a Press Note from KSFA informed.

Three consortiums of bidders one led by Tuscan Consultants and Developers Pvt. Ltd., the other led by JSW Bengaluru FC Pvt. Ltd. and another led by Ozone Group Football Academy Pvt. Ltd. submitted their bids to the said tender.

The Tender Scrutiny and Evaluation Committee constituted by the KSFA, comprising of members of the core committee of the KSFA, representatives of the BBMP and legal and financial advisors of the KSFA, examined the technical bids submitted by the said entities, and evaluated the bids in the background of compliance with technical criteria, as set out under the tender notification dates June 8, 2015 and the tender documents.

In view of the same, the Committee unanimously accepted the bid of the consortium comprising Ozone Group Football Academy Pvt. Ltd. and Hines India Real Estate Pvt. Ltd. and unanimously decided to recommend to the Government of Karnataka for its approval.

The stadia will be constructed by the consortium of Ozone Group Football Academy Pvt. Ltd. and Hines India Real Estate Pvt. Ltd., and is slated to be finished by March 31, 2017 or earlier, which will boost the chances of Bengaluru hosting the 2017 FIFA U-17 World Cup.
