PUMA and Mumbai City FC have launched the official new home kit of the Hero Indian Super League (ISL) side for Season 2 of the competition.

The new blue kit designed by the German company was presented at a launch event in Mumbai on Saturday. Player-cum-manager Nicolas Anelka, India star Sunil Chhetri, goalkeeper Subrata Pal and midfielder André Moritz were present at the event, besides various other players and club owner Ranbir Kapoor.

“When our players go onto the field I want them to feel proud of our colours and be proud to play for Mumbai,” Ranbir Kapoor told at the launch event. The Bollywood superstar also announced that Mumbai City FC will be conducting a pre-season camp in Dubai and play three to four friendly matches in the UAE.

Former Real Madrid and France star Anelka was the marquee player for Mumbai City in Season 1. The Frenchman has returned to the city for the new season to help the club not only as their marquee player, but also as Mumbai City’s marquee manager.

“We have a great squad this season so we’re going to give our best out on the pitch,” Anelka said. “We want to do better than last season. We want to win this year’s ISL. The new head coach role will be tough but we have a big squad and a better team this year.”

Mumbai City FC will face FC Pune City in their first game of the season at the Shree Shiv Chhatrapati Sports Complex Stadium in Pune on October 5, 2015.
