FC Goa will take on NorthEast United FC in their first away fixture of the Indian Super League (ISL) Season 2 at the Indira Gandhi Stadium, Guwahati, on Thursday evening.

The Gaurs kicked-off their season with three home games as Zico’s team started on a winning note as they beat Delhi Dynamos FC 2-0 in their first match. FC Goa then continued with a 1-1 draw against Atlético de Kolkata, before a heavy 0-4 loss to Chennaiyin FC.

“I think NorthEast have the same problem that we have. Their players are also injured. I watched a few games of NorthEast. They didn’t look like they deserved to lose the last game. So we will have a good game,” said FC Goa head coach Zico.

Lúcio hasn’t traveled with the team due to a muscle pain while Jofre Mateu Gonzalez, who had received a knock in the match against Chennaiyin, remains in contention after practicing normally with the squad.

FC Goa have 25 shots on target with three goals to show and are looking to return to winning ways while César Farías’ team NorthEast United is yet to register a point.

The match against FC Goa will be NorthEast United FC’s first home tie after suffereing two defeats to Kerala Blasters FC (1-3) and FC Pune City (0-1).

Meanwhile, NorthEast United’s defender Miguel Garcia will not only be missing out on the game against the Goans but the rest of the season too.
