India U-17 World Cup squad proves ‘two good’ for IFA XI

The 2017 FIFA U-17 World Cup bound India U-17 national team squad defeated a combined IFA XI 2-0 at the Mohun Bagan Ground in Kolkata, West Bengal on Monday.

Although the Indian colts attacked from the start, IFA XI adopted a defensive stance and made it virtually impossible for the colts to foster a clear goal scoring chance, as the half-time score-line read 0-0.

Changing over and the India U-17 team finally breached the IFA XI citadel in the 54th minute when Aniket burst into the 18 yard box and scored to give the Indian colts a 1-0 lead.

In the 67th minute, the Indian team scored again through Sanjeev as he blasted his chance home following an Aniket cross to make it 2-0 for India. Attacking fluidity with defensive solidity got the India U-17 side through as the full-time scoreline read 2-0.

The Indian U-17 squad clashes swords against a NorthEast XI next on January 29, 2016 in Guwahati.
