Riyad Mahrez and Izzy Christiansen honoured at PFA Awards 2016

Leicester City’s Riyad Mahrez and Manchester City’s Isobel “Izzy” Christiansen have claimed the awards in the two top categories of the 43rd PFA Awards 2016. The annual Professional Footballers’ Association (PFA) Awards were held in the Grosvenor House in London on Sunday (April 24, 2016).

Mahrez (25) has been named the PFA Men’s Players’ Player of the Year 2016 for his performances in Leicester City’s outstanding Premiership season, while Christiansen (24) has been named the PFA Women’s Players’ Player of the Year 2016.

Dele Alli of Tottenham Hotspur received the PFA Men’s Young Player of the Year award. The PFA Women’s Young Player of the Year award went to Beth Mead of Sunderland AFC Ladies.

Leicester City and England forward Jamie Vardy was also honoured for his record goal-scoring achievement.
