Delhi Dynamos FC sign West Bromwich Academy graduate Samir Nabi

Delhi Dynamos Football Club have signed West Bromwich Academy graduate Samir Nabi for the Hero Indian Super League (ISL) Season 3. Samir, is the younger brother of former West Bromwich Albion FC and Delhi Dynamos FC striker Adil Nabi. Adil made a name for himself last season at Delhi Dynamos FC when he scored three crucial goals for the club.

Speaking on signing for Delhi Dynamos FC, Samir Nabi said, “After all the good things that I heard about Delhi Dynamos FC and the Indian Super League from Adil, I did not take very long in saying yes to the opportunity to playing for the club.”

He also said, “This is an important season for me, as I have to prove myself and live up to the expectations of my family as well as of that of Mr. Zambrotta, Mr. Agarwal and the club; I am looking forward to giving it my best and making a name for myself in India.”

Head Coach of Delhi Dynamos FC, Gianluca Zambrotta said, “Signing Samir is an important one, for Delhi Dynamos to get a young midfielder, full of enthusiasm and energy who is a product of the West Bromwich Academy is a big win. Full credit for this should go to the wonderful relationship shared between the two brother clubs of West Bromwich FC and Delhi Dynamos FC. I am really looking forward to this young talent sparkling in India.”

Also speaking on the signing, Vishnu Madhu, Chief Technical Officer said, “We had a great experience with Adil last season and when we saw Samir play during the early part of our preseason in England, it was an easy decision for the club to sign Samir Nabi” He further added, “The coaches and the entire technical staff have been very impressed with Samir’s level of skill and technique and are looking forward to him having a great ISL season.”

Samir will be in the Delhi Dynamos FC squad for the charity friendly match being played against West Bromwich Albion FC at the Hawthorns on September 3, 2016.

The talented central midfielder is a highly coveted starlet and was the top scorer for West Bromwich Albion FC U-21 side netting 6 goals in 18 appearances. The versatile Baggies academy graduate can play multiple positions including right and attacking midfield thus adding great utility to the Delhi based club.
