Goa Football Association conducts Extra Ordinary Meeting

Goa Football Association (GFA)

The Goa Football Association (GFA) has effected key amendments to its statutes in a bid to streamline operations at its Extra Ordinary Meeting held yesterday, October 22.

The GFA has discontinued with its practice of having a general secretary and the president can instead recommend one of its executive committee members to be the honorary secretary.

The constitutional amendments proposed were passed unanimously by members present at the EGM Meeting. Also, in another important important amendment, an executive committee member can now be expelled for not attending four meetings in a row, without a valid reason. Amendments were passed, to allow late evening Inter-Village matches under floodlights but all matches will be strictly regulated and compulsorily have to end before 9pm. The inter-village clusters have also been restructured.

The GFA has also introduced a new category called Associate member to allow a club to make amends for failure to remain as active club. Instead of dropping a club directly from active to provisional, the club will have an opportunity to join back as an active member.
