Bayer Leverkusen v Bayern Munich to become the first Bundesliga live match on Facebook

Bundesliga

For the first time, a Bundesliga encounter is to be streamed live on Facebook. ELEVEN SPORTS will provide a livestream of the opening fixture of the second leg of the Bundesliga season 2017/18 pitting Bayer 04 Leverkusen against FC Bayern Munich via Facebook on 12 January (8:30 pm) exclusively for Polish fans. In Germany the match will be televised live on Eurosport and ZDF.

“For Bundesliga as an innovation leader in the field of sports, digitalization plays a key role,” says Robert Klein, the CEO of DFL subsidiary Bundesliga International GmbH, which, among other things, markets the audiovisual media rights to Bundesliga and Bundesliga 2 matches for all foreign platforms: “Our digital platforms and social media channels are providing us with new, effective tools that we are using to distribute the Bundesliga’s high appeal in the global market via inspiring content. With the Facebook live stream through our partner Eleven Sports we will inspire more and more football fans for the Bundesliga in Poland.”

In the 2017/18 season, ELEVEN SPORTS has so far shown close to 100 Bundesliga matches as well as 68 Bundesliga 2 encounters and the Supercup 2017 between Borussia Dortmund and FC Bayern Munich.
