Mohammedan Sporting Club’s Ivorian midfielder Bazie Armand has arrived in Kolkata to play in the upcoming 2018/19 Calcutta Football League – Premier Division ‘A’ on Sunday afternoon.

The 26-year-old, who won the I-League with Minerva Punjab FC last season, was welcomed by Club’s Youth Development Chairman Hasnain Ahmed and Youth Development Vice-Chairman Sheikh Wasim Akram at airport.

Known for his dogged displays in the middle of the park, Bazie began his career in India with Rainbow AC in the CFL Premier Division ‘A’ last season, and was signed by East Bengal ahead of the 2017/18 I-League.

Despite some decent performances East Bengal released Bazie in January after losing twice in the I-League against archrivals Mohun Bagan. However, it did not take long for Bazie to find a new club as he was roped in by Minerva Punjab FC for whom he eventually won the title.

“I am delighted to sign for Mohammedan Sporting Club. It’s a big club with top players and passionate fans,” said Bazie.

“I can’t wait to get started now. I believe it can be a special season for all of us and I will be working hard to produce the kind of performances that will help us achieve what we are aiming for,” he further added.
