NEROCA release foreign trio of Eduardo Ferreira, Kallon Varney & Felix Chidi

I-League side NEROCA FC have announced that they have released their foreign trio of defenders Eduardo Ferreira and Kallon Varney besides striker Felix Chidi after Japanese midfielder Katsumi Yusa had left for champions Chennai City FC.

At the moment it is unclear if NEROCA will play in the next season of the I-League due to the unclear status of India’s top divisions and therefore the club has released all their foreigners.

35 year old Rio de Janeiro-born Eduardo Soares Ferreira was born in Brazil but was naturalized by African nation Equatorial Guinea for whom he played three international matches.

After playing in Brazil, South Africa, Colombia and Iran, Eduardo came to India for the first time to play for FC Pune City in the Indian Super League in 2016. After a decent campaign, Eduardo was signed by Kolkata giants Mohun Bagan and a season later by East Bengal Club before playing for NEROCA in the last I-League.

26 year old defender Varney Kallon Kiatamba Jr. played in his native Liberia before joining Goan side Vasco SC in 2015. From there he move to the Northeast to join NEROCA in 2016 for whom he was a dependable defender and played in the local Manipur State League, the Second Division League and over the last couple of seasons the I-League.

28 year old striker Felix Chidi Odili played in his native Nigeria before moving to India to also join Vasco SC in 2012. Thereafter he played for Josco FC, Eagles FC, Calangute Association and Dempo SC before joining NEROCA in 2016. He has been their main striker over the last three years.
