DFL Deutsche Fußball Liga will publish the fixtures for the coming 2019-20 season for the Bundesliga and Bundesliga 2 on Friday, 28 June 2019. The new season of the Bundesliga is set to commence on 16 August, with Bundesliga 2 beginning three weeks earlier on 26 July. The fixtures will be published on bundesliga.com and dfl.de/en.

The announcement of the fixtures marks the conclusion of a complex process. The DFL board starts planning for the following season in the spring. In this phase, all relevant data for the fixtures is gathered. This includes the FIFA and UEFA international master calendars, as well as data from local authorities, safety bodies (police and ZIS, the central information body for sporting events), clubs and stadium operators. The next step – the creation of the fixtures – begins on the basis of the gathered data after the end of the preseason using software that was specially developed for the DFL in 2006. It is suitable for solving complex challenges that depend on various factors. Hundreds of options are checked and discarded until a solution is found and the fixtures are created.
