The Men’s and Women’s DFB-Pokal (German Cup) will conclude the 2019-20 season with its climax tomorrow, July 4, when the cities of Berlin and Cologne play host to the two finals. Both matches will be played behind closed doors due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Wolfsburg aim for another title defence

The “Cup Final Saturday” will kick-off at 16:45 CET at the RheinEnergieSTADION in Cologne, when women’s football powerhouse VfL Wolfsburg take on FLYERALARM Women’s Bundesliga rivals SGS Essen. Wolfsburg are the runaway favourites to win the final summit, which will be the 40th final in the competition history.

VfL Wolfsburg have won all DFB-Pokal der Frauen (DFB Women’s Cup) finals since 2015, but Essen is looking to stun the defending champions with their passion and team spirit.

Bayer Leverkusen face in-form FC Bayern

The second final of the day will take place at the Olympic Stadium in Berlin at 20:00 CET. Bundesliga giants FC Bayern Munich aim to win their 20th DFB-Pokal title when they face Bayer 04 Leverkusen.

FC Bayern have impressed the football world with their impressive form after the COVID-19 break and everyone is expecting the Bavarians to win the final. But Bayer Leverkusen won’t be an easy opponent for the Bundesliga champions and fans should expect a closely contested match.
