Dutch Eredivisie side PSV have registered a 3-0 win against German 3rd Division (3. Liga) outfit SC Verl in a pre-season friendly match behind closed doors at the SPORTCLUB Arena in Verl, Germany on Saturday, August 8. England youth international Chukwunonso “Noni” Madueke was the “Man of the Match” with a clinical first half hat-trick.

PSV’s new German head coach Roger Schmidt used the match to test a 4-2-2-2 formation and his full squad. The Dutch visitors impressed with some quality football throughout the game despite temperatures around 36°C.

Verl tried their best to challenge PSV, but the visitors proved too strong for the Germans. Madueke scored two quick goals in the 21st and 25th minute to pave the way for an away win for the Dutch side. The Englishman sealed PSV’s win with another brilliant individual finish in the 42nd minute.

Both sides made several changes to their line-ups in the second half which didn’t offer too many highlights.
