On 2 November FC Bayern will launch the documentary produced jointly with W&B Television for Amazon Prime Video. Under the title ‘FC Bayern – Behind the Legend’, the past, present and future of the German record champions are linked in a way that has never been seen before. All six episodes will be fully available on the streaming service from 2 November. To give the fans exclusive insights behind the scenes, the cameras have followed the team closely since the treble win in the summer of 2020. Changing room talks, team meetings, board negotiations, committee meetings, in-depth discussions, virtual and real fan meetings as well as the most emotional moments on the pitch – all of this awaits fans in this unique series.

FC Bayern CEO Oliver Kahn: “We’re very pleased the launch of ‘FC Bayern – Behind the Legend’ is getting closer. In this documentary, our fans will experience the club closer than ever before: how it works, how FC Bayern ticks, with all its characteristics and facets. It’s an in-depth series for our supporters all over the world, which will certainly also be of interest to football fans not associated with our club.”

With access to over 2,000 hours of raw and archive material after hundreds of days of shooting at over 25 different locations and more than 145 interviews, fans will experience the crucial moments of the 2020/21 season and get to know the people behind the legend of the German record champions – in a more personal, multi-layered way than ever before. The cameras record how the club has developed after its most successful year, facing new challenges such as coronavirus in one of the most intense seasons in its history, and drastic personnel changes such as the replacement of Karl-Hainz Rummenigge by Oliver Kahn as CEO, and Hansi Flick by Julian Nagelsmann as head coach. The series highlights the unforgettable successes and fateful moments of the club and connects the past with current developments.
