East Bengal Club 3-1 Pune FC

East Bengal Club has won their third match on the trot as they got past Pune FC 3-1 at home in Kolkata.

East Bengal started the match on the positive creating chances right from the beginning but Pune FC were able to soak in the pressure as they withstood the pressure till the late in the first half.

Nirmal Chetri scored the opening goal for East Bengal in the 44th minute from a powerful 25 yard strike. However, Pune FC came back fighting and equalised through a Lester Mark Fernandes strike in stoppage time of the first half after Douhou sent in a short cross that beat the offside trap.

In the second half it looked like battle would continue until Tolgay Ozbey got a pass from the centre in the right side of the box and finished with great power and accuracy into the side netting of the far post.

Alan Gow then added another in the 88th minute when he sidestepped a defender and took a powerful long range strike from about 15 yards outside the box to beat an outstretched goalkeeper diving to his left. Alan Gow also picked up a second yellow in the last minute and will miss the next match due to a double booking.

The victory added to Pune FC misery as they lost this match 3-1 after losing the last match 5-1 to Prayag United SC.
