Bayern having a day off – India to arrive tomorrow

India vs FC Bayern München – Audi Football Summit

Bayern Munich have won their first preparation match during their winter camp in Doha yesterday. The Bundesliga giants trashed Qatari 2nd Division club Al-Sailiy SC 13-0.

Bayern, who played their first match after the chrismas vacation, had no difficulties with thei Qatari opponents at the grounds of the ASPIRE Academy for Sports Excellence.

Arjen Robben (36′), Mario Gomez (37′) and Thomas Müller (45′) scored in the first half, while Ivica Olic (50′, 62′, 74′, 82′, 84′), Nils Petersen (52′, 85′), Franck Ribéry (73′, 77′) and Diego Contento (78′) completed the routing.

Star midfielder Bastian Schweinsteiger returned to the pitch after a collarbone injury he suffered in a UEFA Champions League match.

“It was not a happy time for me. I couldn’t do anything about it. But I’m happy that I suffered this injury before the winter break and not in the crucial stage of the season,” Schweinsteiger told.

Bayern coach Jupp Heynckes was quite satisfied with the performance of his team. Heynckes conducted a training session at 10.00 local time, before the cancelled the afternoon session today.

The Bayern team visited an adidas store in Doha for an autograph session yesterday evening. Bastian Schweinsteiger, Arjen Robben and Thomas Müller attended the one hour long event and they were surprised to the interest by the Qataris.

The Germans will face Al Ahly Cairo in their second preparation match tomorrow evening, before they continue thei journey to Delhi to take on the Indian national team.

Meanwhile, the Indian national team will arrive in the capital on Saturday. The Indian team is looking forward to the high-profile “Audi Football Summit” against the German visitors on Tuesday.

India stars Jeje Lalpekhlua, Climax Lawrence, Gouramangi Moirangthem Singh, C.S. Sabeeth and Clifford Miranda are expected to attend the FCBEscola camp in Gurgaon tomorrow. The FC Barcelona football school witnessed 180 participants in the age group of Under-8s to U-17s in the first camp and even more kids are expected for the camp at The Heritage School in Gurgaon.

The Indian players will train the young kids along with Barca coaches Pep Moratalla, Aleix Gibert Buxeda and Antoni Claveria.
